Ordering a custom sauna takes five clear steps: a free WhatsApp consultation, choosing the model and spec, a design with 3D and an exact price, production in Baku, and installation anywhere in Azerbaijan. All we really need from you to start is a few photos of the site, rough dimensions and how many people will use the sauna. Below we walk through each step and give you a checklist of what to send us.
The ordering process at a glance
| Step | What happens | What we need from you |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Consultation | We listen to your wishes and suggest suitable models | A short WhatsApp message and site photos |
| 2. Model & spec | Size, wood, stove, glass and extras are chosen | Capacity, budget, preferences |
| 3. Design & 3D | Layout, visualisation, exact price | Feedback and changes |
| 4. Production | The sauna is built in our workshop in Baku | Prepare the base and power |
| 5. Installation | Delivery and on-site assembly — anywhere in Azerbaijan | Clear access and a ready pad |
Step 1. Free consultation
It all starts with a simple message. Write to us on WhatsApp and tell us in a sentence or two what you have in mind — for example, “we’d like a 4-person sauna in the garden of our country house”. If you haven’t picked a model yet, that’s fine — that’s exactly what the consultation is for.
At this stage we explain the differences between barrel, cube, oval, cabin and cottage saunas and outdoor SPA complexes, and recommend the shape that best suits your site. All shapes are in outdoor saunas; if you’d prefer a sauna inside the house, we build indoor saunas too.
Step 2. Choose the model and spec
This is where the key decisions are made:
- Capacity — how many people usually bathe together.
- Interior wood — linden (standard), cedar, abachi, African abachi or teak.
- Stove — electric or wood-burning; Harvia, SAWO, Teplodar, TMF or Fanlan.
- Glass — a classic window, a panoramic wall or a fully glazed front.
- Extras — a terrace, LED lighting, decor (decorative stones, Himalayan salt panels, log-cut decor), accessories.
- Rooms for cottages and SPA complexes — sauna, steam room, salt room, Turkish hamam, broom (venik) room, massage room, hot or cold tub, pool, shower/WC, lounge.
Want a ballpark budget first? Check the ranges on our sauna prices page.
Step 3. Design, 3D and an exact price
Once the choices are clear, we prepare the design. For complex builds — a multi-room cottage sauna, for instance — we produce a layout and a 3D visualisation showing the rooms, benches, windows and lounge area. Our cottage sauna in İsmayıllı was planned this way: first in 3D, then built for real. See the results on our projects page.
You also receive an exact quote at this step. The design can be revised — room positions, bench layout, glazing size or wood species can all change. The aim is for every detail to be clear before production starts, so there are no surprises later. Once you’re happy with the design, the order is confirmed.
Step 4. Production in Baku
Your sauna is made in Baku. The exterior is water-resistant, thermally treated larch (ship timber), and the walls are multilayer: mineral stone wool plus a special membrane that keeps moisture and steam away from the timber frame. The roof has a double shield of tegola shingles over roofing felt; other models can have ondulin or profiled metal sheeting.
While it’s being built, you prepare the site:
- Base — a level, solid, well-drained surface: a concrete slab, paving stones or screw piles.
- Power — if you chose an electric heater, a suitable supply line.
- Access — a route for bringing the sauna to the pad.
Step 5. Delivery and installation across Azerbaijan
Barrel Sauna works throughout the country — from Baku and Absheron to mountain regions like Qəbələ, Qax and İsmayıllı. The sauna is delivered and installed on site, the stove is connected, and we walk you through how to use it properly.
What to send on WhatsApp: a checklist
The more complete your first message, the more precise our first answer.
| What to send | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| 2–4 photos of the site from different angles | To decide on size, shape and position |
| Rough dimensions of the area (width × length, m) | To see which models will fit |
| Number of people | To choose capacity and stove output |
| Wood preference (or “need advice”) | For the interior and the price |
| Stove: electric, wood, or undecided | For the power supply and spec |
| Location (district, town, village) | To plan delivery and installation |
| Extras: glass, terrace, hot tub, lounge | To get the design right first time |
| Rough budget (optional) | To suggest the best-value spec |
No tape measure? Pacing it out or photographing the spot next to everyday objects for scale works fine.
Common mistakes when ordering
These are the mistakes we see most often — avoiding them saves both time and money:
- Going too big. Size the sauna for the people who usually bathe together, not for occasional guests.
- Leaving the site for later. The sauna is ready but the pad isn’t. Prepare the base and power line while production is under way.
- “We’ll decide on the stove later.” The stove type affects the power supply, the chimney outlet and the interior layout, so it needs to be chosen up front.
- Ignoring the view. The glass door or panoramic wall should face the best direction — something decided when choosing the spot.
- Postponing structural extras. Accessories can be bought later, but a terrace, a glass wall or an extra room has to be designed in from the start.
After installation: first use and care
During the first heat-up, the stove and the wood “settle in”, so it’s a good idea to air the sauna well. Day-to-day care is simple:
- after each session, leave the door open so the sauna dries out;
- sit on towels on the benches;
- on a barrel sauna, check the steel bands when the seasons change and re-tighten if needed;
- after winter, take a look at the roof and the exterior.

FAQ
Is the consultation free?
Yes, it’s free. Just message us on WhatsApp and send a photo of the site.
Is the sauna a standard model or made to order?
Each sauna is built to your chosen size, wood, stove and extras. For cottages and SPA complexes, the room mix is planned individually too.
I live outside Baku — do you install there?
Yes. Saunas are produced in Baku and installed anywhere in Azerbaijan.
Can I see the design before ordering?
Yes. For complex projects we prepare a layout and 3D visualisation, and the order is confirmed only once you’re happy with it.
How should I prepare the site?
You need a level, solid, well-drained surface — a concrete slab, paving or screw piles — plus a power line if you chose an electric heater. Send us photos and we’ll tell you exactly what’s needed.
